Kim Ballestero
remembers playing the accordion and singing with her sister
in children's church when she was seven years old. Soon after,
her parents started a home missions church where she assumed the
title of "church organist". In high school, Ballestero
sang Christian songs even when it "wasn't cool". She
always knew God had his hand on her life.
In 1990, Ballestero
graduated from Jackson College of Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi
with a Bachelor of Arts in Gospel Music. During her senior year,
she traveled with the Lanny Wolfe Singers.
In 1991, Kim
married Anthony Ballestero. Together, they began to work for the
Lord in full-time ministry as youth pastors of the First Pentecostal
church in Jackson, MS, where Kim led the youth choir. Even though
they moved on to other areas of ministry, she was always involved
in leading choirs or playing and singing in church.
Then on May
12, 1996, Kim and her husband pioneered a church in Clearwater,
Florida, "The Pentecostals of Clearwater". Even though
their first priority is building a church in Clearwater, Kim is
still very involved in music ministry outside their local church,
teaching choir clinics, leading music for conferences, and singing
at various events .
A mother of
three, Kim Ballestero is dedicated to carrying out the call that
has been placed on her life.
