For
23 years, The Laymen Quartet has been singing about the
gospel of Jesus Christ. According to Mark Hoggard, the founder,
manager and baritone singer, their mission "is to reach individuals
through song that might not otherwise be touched by the gospel".
The
Laymen's bass singer, Mark "Markie" Hoggard, Jr. has been singing
since the ripe old age of 8. Versatile enough to sing other parts
in the quartet, Markie wrote five of the 10 songs on their "Breakthrough"
project including Stand Up For Old Glory" their first radio release.
The
Laymen's lead singer, Curtis Hyler, formerly sang with the group
Heaven Bound. A very talented songwriter, singer and musician,
Curtis has a heart for ministry and a love for singing.
A
talented musician, arranger and songwriter, Randy Warren, the
Laymen's pianist has written a number of great songs over the
past few years. For the past 20 years, Randy has been involved
in Southern Gospel Music and is excited that God has given him
the opportunity to be part of this great ministry.
Kevin
McManus, President of Zion Music Group expresses his high hopes
for the future of The Laymen Quartet saying the members
of the group "have excellent writing skills and vocal abilities".
McManus forsees a long-working relationship between Zion and The
Laymen Quartet.
